Said Darwazah is the Chairman of the Queen Rania Foundation’s Board of Directors. He is the CEO and Chairman of Hikma Pharmaceuticals PLC, a leading multinational pharmaceutical group listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE). He joined Hikma in 1981, was appointed CEO in 2007 and became Hikma Chairman as well as CEO in 2014.
From 2003 to 2006, he joined the Government of Jordan as Minister of Health. Said is also the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of “Jordan University of Science and Technology” and a member of the Global Advisory Board at Babson College in the USA. In addition, Said serves as a trustee at the American University of Beirut (AUB) where he also co-founded the Samih Darwazah Center for Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship.
Said founded the “Health Care Accreditation Counsel”, a Jordanian not for profit organization that accredits healthcare providers and works across the region to improve standards in healthcare. He also serves as Vice Chairman of the Jordanian Royal Health Awareness Society. Said is a Board Member of the Central Bank of Jordan. Said holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in the US and an MBA from INSEAD.
